Customer Reviews
Great camera, I bought this, upgrading from my old Canon SD600 Digital Elph. Great step up. Kinda just what you need if you want a camera that takes great pictures with a telescoping lens, but yet still small enough to not need one of those massive camera bags. The photos are of great quality. One of my friends had this camera and I sought it out (even though there is now a newer model) because i liked hers so much.
Great Qualities -
-FEATURES-
-telescoping lens – awesome, I love this feature so much
-auto focus or manual focus – seem very responsive and nice
-flash is great
-CONNECT TO COMPUTER FUNCTIONS- hookup to computer for me was seemless, though it had to think for a bit, because of it being a new camera or what not, and the photos were default set at a very large resolution so it took a while to sync to my mac until i figured out that was the issue
-RESPONSIVENESS- very responsive, love all the settings you would get with a larger more professional camera in this littler one
-BATTERY LIFE- battery life doesn’t seem to suck as much as it did on the SD600, though it’s new so time will tell on it (batteries started wearing out on the old one quickly, even after buying a new one)
-DEAL- Adorama’s deal was awesome, because you got the extra bonus stuff…look for the right deal for you. this one had a mini-tripod and a bunch of other things. the colored versions of this camera are more expensive (I wanted blue) but settled for the black because of the extra stuff. Adorama was great with response time, shipping, etc. I don’t usually buy from them, I bought from Beach Camera last time, but they just had a better deal.
Things you may not like -
-SIZE- if you are hoping to put this in your pocket and carrying it around, think again. I am having to buy some form of small camera bag to protect it from scrapes and the like. but with phones the way they are, I see this as a necessary and happy medium.
-PORT/CABLE DOOR- the little door that hides the connections for the cables to your computer seems flimsy (and was on the SD 600 too, but never broke it, so i think it can hold up to more than it seems)
you DO need to read the manual, and it might be good to look into some additional photography ed to use (i’m still learning all the features, though i was able to pretty much pull it out of the box and use it right away, point and click). but read the manual there are features that you don’t realize how to get to.
All in all, a great product, fairly decent deal (if you can resist the need to have one in a cool color and go with plane jane gray/black), great accessories, you won’t be disappointed.
